Huge thanks to all who managed last week’s fundraiser at the Dog House Bar, the bands were amazing and we managed to raise over £1300 (£100 pending auction prize to be added to the LLSCDT GoFundMe). Bringing our total so far to nearly £6000! You can watch a brief LLSCDT Update and other footage of the day.
We aim to film more but all hands are on deck doing the necessary legal/paperwork, speaking to press/media, filling further objections, gathering signatures, and dealing with LLTNP in the leadup to the 16th of September, as although they have recommended the plans be rejected, which is fantastic, LLTNP may still go ahead and approve the plans on the 16th. Regardless of the outcome on the 16th of Sept, the developer can and will no doubt appeal this so we need to be prepared and keep pressing on with our plans to set up the LLSCDT.
With that in mind, we are delighted to announce is now an incorporated body, view details Loch Lomond South Community Development Trust Our lovely volunteers are busy chapping doors, stopping people in the street to gather those much-needed signatures to get that much-needed support for the setup of the LLSCDT so that we can offer the local community and the economy a viable alternative to what is currently being proposed.
Huge thanks to them all for their time and efforts! We have circa 400 signatures signed up but still need at least 630 (10%) – ideally, we need 15-20% of the people of Balloch and Haldane to at the very least sign up and or volunteer their time in some way, shape or form – this is what the Scottish Land Fund will need to be able to consider our application for the monies required to action an asset transfer of tourist information, West Riverside, Pierhead, Drumkinnon Wood and the Visitors centre. Please remember, we welcome communities from outwith the Balloch, Haldane, and West Dunbartonshire region to join the LLSCDT.

We will be hosting another fundraising event in the coming month or so as we had so many raffle prizes that meant we could split them over two events, more details to follow soon! For those who have volunteered their time, we will be back in touch in the coming days to arrange a meeting to discuss the next steps and what still needs to happen!
